  • • What content to include on each page
  • • How to create and organize pages in WordPress
  • • How to create navigation menus
  • • Best practices for each page type
  • • How to set your homepage

Why Every Business Needs These 5 Pages

  • When clients hire you to build their website, they almost always need the same basic structure. This is called the Standard 5-Page Business Site:
  • 1. Home Page — First impression, overview of business
  • 2. About Us — Story, team, credibility
  • 3. Services/Products — What they offer
  • 4. Portfolio/Gallery — Proof of work (if applicable)
  • 5. Contact — How to reach them
  • Why this matters: Knowing this structure lets you quote projects quickly. 'A 5-page business website with contact form? That's Rs. 50,000 and 5 days.'

Page 1: The Home Page

  • Your homepage is the most important page. It should immediately communicate:
  • Hero Section (Top):
  • • What the business does
  • • Who they serve
  • • Clear Call-to-Action (Contact Us, Get Quote, Shop Now)
  • Key Sections to Include:
  • • Brief introduction to the business (2-3 sentences)
  • • Services overview (linked to full Services page)
  • • Trust indicators (client logos, testimonials, awards)
  • • Featured work or products
  • • Call-to-action section before footer
  • Common Mistake: Making the homepage too long. Users should understand what the business does within 5 seconds.

Page 2: About Us

  • This page builds trust and connects with visitors emotionally:
  • What to Include:
  • • Story of how the business started
  • • Mission/vision/values (keep it concise)
  • • Team photos and brief bios
  • • Credentials, certifications, awards
  • • Why customers should choose them over competitors
  • Pro Tip: People connect with stories, not corporate language. Make it human and relatable.
  • Example Opening: 'Founded in 2015 by two brothers who shared a passion for photography…'

Page 3: Services or Products

  • This is where visitors evaluate if the business can help them:
  • For Service Businesses:
  • • List each service with a brief description
  • • Include pricing if possible (even ranges)
  • • Add icons or images for visual appeal
  • • Link to individual service pages if detailed
  • • Include a CTA: 'Ready to get started? Contact us for a free quote.'
  • For Product Businesses:
  • • Featured products with images and prices
  • • Categories for easy browsing
  • • Add-to-cart functionality (if e-commerce)
  • Common Mistake: Being vague about what they offer. Specific = trustworthy.

Page 4: Portfolio or Gallery

  • Visual proof of their work (especially for creative/service businesses):
  • What to Include:
  • • High-quality images of completed projects
  • • Brief description of each project
  • • Client name (with permission)
  • • Results achieved if measurable
  • • Organized by category if they have different services
  • Not all businesses need this: Restaurants might use this for food photos. Consultants might skip it.
  • Alternative: Testimonials page or Case Studies page for service businesses.

Page 5: Contact Page

  • The goal is to make it EASY for visitors to reach out:
  • Essential Elements:
  • • Contact form (name, email, message at minimum)
  • • Phone number (clickable for mobile users)
  • • Email address
  • • Physical address (if applicable)
  • • Google Maps embed (if local business)
  • • Business hours
  • • Social media links
  • Form Best Practices:
  • • Keep it short (name, email, message)
  • • Add a clear submit button
  • • Show a confirmation message after submission
  • • Make sure submissions go to the client's email (test this!)
